Karen Baker believes that every person in Southwest Virginia deserves access to well-paying jobs that offer a path to advancement. To achieve this, she will:

 

• Support Small Business: Strengthen local small businesses, which are the backbone of our economy, with tax incentives, review of regulatory burdens, and greater access to development programs and grants. 

 

• Promote Skills Training: Expand vocational training and apprenticeship programs in high-demand fields such as healthcare and technology, ensuring our workforce is prepared for the jobs of tomorrow. 

 

• Invest in Infrastructure: Push for significant investment in our infrastructure—improving roads, bridges, and broadband connectivity—to create jobs, enhance business efficiency, and attract new industries to our region.
